About the position

Idaho Power, located in vibrant Boise, Idaho, is seeking a Compensation Analyst at the Entry, Professional, or Senior level to join our Total Rewards team. This role is crucial as it carries enterprise-wide responsibility for providing a balanced, competitive, and sustainable total rewards package, ensuring we attract and retain high-quality employees. The Compensation Analyst will play a key role in the design, implementation, and administration of the company's compensation programs, which include base pay plans, job analysis and descriptions, bonus programs, and salary market analysis. As an Entry Compensation Analyst, you will work under supervision to support the various compensation programs. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the design and implementation of these programs, conducting job analyses, and preparing salary market analyses. As you progress to the Professional level, you will work with limited supervision, advising business leaders and making recommendations that align with our compensation philosophies and the long-term success of the company. At the Senior level, you will take on a leadership role in developing and administering competitive compensation packages and rewards programs, influencing business leaders, and proposing improvements to enhance the employee experience. The selected candidate will analyze internal and external market data to address compensation-related needs, prepare and present recommendations, and develop transparent communication regarding compensation and incentive programs. You will partner with HR colleagues and business leaders to interpret business issues and recommend solutions, streamline compensation processes, and contribute to executive meetings regarding compensation matters. Additionally, you will track and calculate incentive payouts, complete audits, and monitor regulatory changes to maintain compliance and competitiveness in compensation and total rewards.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, implementation, and administration of the company's compensation programs.
  • Analyze internal and external market data to address compensation-related needs.
  • Prepare and present recommendations and compensation analysis information.
  • Develop and deliver transparent communication regarding compensation and incentive programs.
  • Partner and consult with HR colleagues and business leaders to interpret business issues and recommend solutions.
  • Streamline, consolidate, and automate compensation processes.
  • Collaborate with peers to facilitate the performance management process.
  • Contribute information in the preparation of executive or compensation committee meetings.
  • Track and calculate short-term and long-term incentive payouts.
  • Complete audits, generate reports, and reconcile records to ensure compensation data integrity and accuracy.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends, recommending necessary adjustments to maintain compliance and competitiveness.
  • Participate in salary surveys and analyze data.
  • Participate in compensation projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience for Entry level.
  • 2 years of demonstrated experience in HR or a related field for Entry level.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience for Professional level.
  • 3 years of professional/advanced HR experience, including compensation experience for Professional level.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience for Senior level.
  • 5 years of professional/advanced HR experience, including 3 years of experience in compensation for Senior level.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position.
