About the position

The Compensation Analyst at Aston Carter plays a crucial role in administering competitive and equitable compensation programs. This position involves hands-on management of compensation policies, pay structures, and conducting market research to ensure data accuracy. The analyst will oversee the design and administration of salary structures, bonus, incentive, and merit programs, while leading projects aimed at optimizing compensation practices. Regular audits and compliance checks are essential, along with training delivery to educate leaders and employees on compensation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Administer all compensation programs including base pay, variable pay, bonus/merit program, and other compensation-related activities.
  • Maintain salary structures, pay grades, compensation guidelines, and HRIS compensation module.
  • Serve as a consultant to HR partners and leaders, providing expert guidance and recommendations on compensation-related matters.
  • Conduct regular benchmarking and analyze compensation practices to ensure programs remain fair and competitive.
  • Develop, analyze, forecast, and recommend merit and AIP scenarios to Leadership for budget, forecasting, reporting, and decision-making purposes.
  • Manage the annual merit and AIP calculations, forecasting, processing, and reporting to Business Unit leaders.
  • Analyze competitive market data for job positions, job families, and departments, and prepare proposals to leadership on potential pay adjustments.
  • Create and conduct market data presentations to leaders.
  • Analyze pay structures, pay ranges, and placement of all positions in pay ranges, recommending adjustments as necessary.
  • Utilize data analytics and metrics to provide insights into compensation trends, cost analyses, and ROI of compensation programs.
  • Build relationships with leaders to understand department structure, goals, and business objectives, and educate them on compensation practices.
  • Ensure compliance with various government regulations by staying abreast of legislative changes and industry best practices.
  • Perform annual audits to ensure compensation data integrity and pay equity for all active positions.
  • Enhance workflows and maintain process documents for compensation processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience administering compensation programs in a large, complex organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field, with a preferred emphasis in finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, or accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and complex formulas.
  • Experience with HRIS and compensation management software.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting complex data analysis and modeling.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven project management experience.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations related to compensation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Global Remuneration Professional (GRP) Certification.
  • Experience with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group).
  • Experience in the financial services or credit union industry.
  • Experience in developing data visualizations using analytics software such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience in change management, including the ability to develop and deliver training programs.
