About the position

We are currently seeking a Compensation Analyst to join our team in Fort Smith, AR. This role is pivotal in administering the Compensation Strategy for the organization and will involve performing various project work to support ArcBest and its subsidiaries. As a Compensation Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our compensation practices align with both internal and external market standards. In this position, you will analyze job descriptions and market data to ensure internal and external alignment of compensation across the organization. You will be responsible for assigning salary scales for all Senior Director and below roles, preparing reports such as organization and flow charts, and career path reports to summarize job analyses for various roles. Additionally, you will approve requisitions within the HRIS and collaborate with Recruiting and business leaders on all compensation offers. Your expertise will also be required in preparing evaluation and compensation analysis information by department, as well as advising leadership on compensation increase schedules and step increases. You will assess the need for and develop job analysis instruments and materials, conduct research on job and worker requirements, and analyze structural and functional relationships among jobs and occupations. Furthermore, you will assist in the administration of Executive Compensation Plans and manage incentive compensation plans. Effective communication with leadership and employees regarding the Company's Compensation Strategy, pay tier assignments, geographical differentials, and all compensation offers will be essential. You will also be tasked with improving efficiency in current processes and leading special projects as assigned. Responsibilities

  • Analyze job descriptions and market data for internal and external alignment of compensation across the organization.
  • Assign salary scales for all Senior Director and below roles in the organization.
  • Prepare reports, such as organization and flow charts, and career path reports, to summarize job analyses for roles.
  • Approve requisitions within HRIS and work with Recruiting and business leaders in all compensation offers.
  • Prepare evaluation and compensation analysis information by department.
  • Prepare compensation increase schedules and advise leadership on step increases.

  • Assist in the administration of the Executive Compensation Plans.

  • Coordinate and effectively communicate with leadership and employees regarding the Company's Compensation Strategy, pay tier assignments, geographical differentials, and all compensation offers.
  • Improve efficiency in current processes.
  • Lead and organize special projects.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field, preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Prior Human Resources or Compensation experience, preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and 10-Key.
