About the position

The Compensation Analyst I position at Granite Construction is responsible for supporting the administration and maintenance of compensation programs aimed at attracting, motivating, and retaining talented employees. This role involves conducting market analysis, ensuring job descriptions are accurate, collaborating with HR and management on compensation data, and maintaining compliance with compensation laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support the administration of compensation programs by participating in salary surveys and conducting market analysis.
• Ensure job descriptions and titles accurately capture key duties and responsibilities for position evaluation.
• Collaborate with HR and management to provide compensation data for informed decision-making on job offers and promotional increases.
• Support the analysis and implementation of pay equity initiatives to ensure fair compensation practices.
• Support pay transparency initiatives and provide training for managers and employees.
• Maintain compensation analytics software for accurate reporting and perform data analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
• Ensure compensation initiatives comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• 0-2 years experience in the analysis, design and/or administration of compensation programs.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Strong analytical, qualitative and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent consultative and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Ability to work independently and as a strong team player.
• Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management.
• Experience with HRIS and compensation analytics software.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
