About the position

The position provides moderately complex analytical support required for the design, implementation, and evaluation of compensation programs across WM. The role involves reviewing and analyzing compensation trends and competitive practices in relevant labor markets. The analyst will analyze HR data and prepare reports that provide management with accurate and timely information. This position requires close collaboration with HR and business partner teams to identify and address compensation issues, including compensation-related assessments, recommendations, and support. Key responsibilities include conducting market pricing activities such as job matching, data analytics, benchmarking, and job pricing. The analyst will also analyze broad-based cash incentive compensation practices using third-party salary survey data management automation systems. Participation in compensation surveys on behalf of WM is expected, along with maintaining an online market survey and benchmarking tool to ensure data accuracy and job matching accuracy. The role also involves designing and running reports as requested and needed. The analyst will partner with Human Resources Support to ensure that the Human Capital Management (HCM) system supports current compensation programs, assist with report generation to support business needs, and consult on system enhancements to improve Total Rewards/Compensation processes and administration. Additionally, the analyst will assist in annual and periodic reviews of market competitiveness of WM employees and maintain the WM job codes and job architecture. The role includes participating in administrative processes for maintaining the integrity of employee information and calculations housed in WM's salary planning and incentive programs. Documentation development and maintenance for compensation processes is also a key responsibility. The analyst will work with team members to administer compensation programs, including the annual salary planning process, incentive process, and salary range development. Training content development for HR partners and managers regarding compensation programs and practices is also part of the role. The analyst will manage the department email inbox and respond to compensation-related requests, as well as conduct audits as needed to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, maintaining required documentation for policies, procedures, controls, and plans.

Responsibilities

  • Posts and maintains current information and documentation to WM's internal locations concerning compensation and HRIM.
  • Administers and manages the department email inbox and responds to compensation-related requests.
  • Conducts audits as needed, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma Required.
  • 4 years of work experience in Human Resources or Compensation Administration.
  • 2 years of prior work experience in mid to large-sized companies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar area of study.
