About the position

The Compensation Analyst III position at AAFES Headquarters in Dallas, Texas, is a senior-level role focused on the analysis, design, and administration of the organization's compensation programs. This includes critical functions such as job evaluations, market pricing, salary structure development, job grading, and organizational design. The role is essential in ensuring that the compensation strategies align with the organization's goals and market standards, thereby attracting and retaining top talent. The analyst will be responsible for evaluating positions using established evaluation systems and making recommendations regarding job titles, grade levels, and alignment with both internal and external market conditions. In this role, the Compensation Analyst will conduct market salary competitiveness studies, develop data sources, and perform statistical analyses to provide informed recommendations on pay strategies and structures. Participation in compensation surveys is also a key responsibility, ensuring that the organization remains competitive in its compensation offerings. The analyst will administer merit and bonus programs, which involves formulating pay guidelines and eligibility rules, developing systems for tracking and reporting, and effectively communicating the details of these programs to stakeholders. Additionally, the Compensation Analyst will research and analyze organizational, occupational, and industry data to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of organizational structures. This includes developing recommendations on reporting relationships and job title assignments. The role may also involve other duties and projects as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the Human Resources department and the organization as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates positions using established evaluation systems and makes recommendations on job titles, grade levels, and internal/external market alignment.
  • Performs market salary competitiveness studies, develops data sources, conducts statistical analysis, and provides recommendations on pay strategies and structures.
  • Participates in compensation surveys to ensure competitive compensation practices.
  • Administers merit and bonus programs, including formulating pay guidelines and eligibility rules, developing systems, cost modeling, reporting, and communicating program details.
  • Researches and analyzes organizational, occupational, and industry data to evaluate organizational structures for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Develops recommendations on levels, reporting relationships, and job title assignments.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in Human Resources, including substantial experience in compensation and/or organization development with strong analytical and systems skills.
  • Or a Bachelor's degree plus three years in Human Resources, including substantial experience in compensation and/or organization development with strong analytical and systems skills.
  • Experience in the federal sector is preferred.
  • Intermediate level proficiency in Excel is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in federal sector is preferred.
  • Familiarity with computer systems/applications is preferred.
