About the position

As a Compensation Analyst (Intermediate Level) at USAA, you will play a crucial role in the implementation and administration of total compensation programs, practices, and policies. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and analyzing salary data, determining pay grades, and participating in compensation surveys. You will also prepare special studies and recommendations on various compensation-related topics, ensuring alignment with the total rewards philosophy and HR strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the implementation and administration of compensation programs, practices, and policies (Executive and/or Non Executive).
  • Researches organizational trends, market data, and industry practices.
  • Assists with the design, development, and assessment of compensation initiatives as needed.
  • Assists HR and business stakeholders to resolve issues with existing compensation programs, practices, and policies.
  • Identifies appropriate issues for escalation.
  • Oversees data entry of compensation related information to appropriate databases and system resources, including HRIS and Case/Knowledge Management System.
  • Ensures accuracy and quality of data processed.
  • Administers compensation survey data and maintains database of job and survey related information.
  • Supports compensation projects and initiatives and serves on cross-functional teams.
  • Assists key stakeholders with the development and implementation of systems and processes which support compensation programs.
  • Conducts training to educate management and employees on compensation-related programs, practices, and policies, ensuring compliance with legal standards and strategic alignment.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 2 or more years relevant work experience in compensation discipline, or related experience in HR, Finance, or business sales operations.
  • Developing knowledge of Microsoft Office products and other software to be used to develop analysis, charts, and/or supporting documentation.
  • Knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations including Equal Pay Acts and other nondiscrimination laws.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with broad based compensation (merit cycle, salary range development, job hierarchies).
  • Strong experience using MS Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, etc).
  • Experience with Market Pricing.
  • Experience creating dashboards with Tableau.
