About the position

The Compensation Analyst role at Hancock Bank is focused on providing market research, data analysis, and insights into compensation strategies to attract, retain, and motivate associates. This position plays a critical role in aligning compensation programs with organizational goals, industry standards, and legal requirements, ensuring the effectiveness of compensation strategies across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze data on compensation trends, market rates, and industry best practices.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations on the effectiveness of compensation programs.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on compensation trends, analysis, and recommendations for HR Business Partners and senior management.
  • Develop and maintain standardized compensation metrics and dashboards.
  • Assist Compensation Partner(s) with job evaluations and ensure accurate job descriptions and competitive market valuations.
  • Execute annual market analysis reporting and analytics for associate and organization level modeling.
  • Assist Total Rewards team with reporting and data visualization related to compensation.
  • Support the development and monitoring of annual compensation budgets and forecasts.
  • Execute data governance and integrity procedures and recommend changes as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for guidance and training on compensation-related topics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of compensation or financial analysis experience or similar role, or an advanced degree in a related field.
  • General knowledge of compensation practices, salary structures, job evaluation methodologies, and regulatory requirements in the financial services industry preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data.
  • Proficiency in using compensation software, data analysis tools, HRIS systems, and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
