About the position

As a Senior Commissions Analyst at Insight Enterprises, you will play a pivotal role in the calculation and administration of commission and incentive award payments for our sales personnel, ensuring alignment with commission plan provisions. This position is essential for providing staff support in the development, implementation, communication, and administration of sales commission and incentive programs. You will be responsible for conducting detailed cost analysis and modeling to optimize commission and incentive plan design, as well as quota levels. Collaboration across various departments will be key as you address and resolve any calculation disputes or issues that may arise. Your contributions will directly impact sales performance, motivate our sales team, and ensure the success of our commission programs. In this role, you will be tasked with reviewing and entering sales requested adjustments into the system of record, maintaining the commission database used to track and compute variable compensation, and setting sales quotas. You will also analyze compensation plan changes and provide subject matter expertise on departmental policies, processes, and systems. Training and instructing other departments on the use of these systems will be part of your responsibilities, along with performing financial analysis, including performance to sales quota and reconciliation with the general ledger. Proactively identifying opportunities to drive operational efficiencies and increase profitability will be a significant aspect of your role. This includes modeling and forecasting improvements with supporting metrics and data. You will support and perform ad-hoc research and analytical projects, coordinating with IT, FBA, and management to ensure accurate implementation of process and system changes. Additionally, you will create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions, working cross-functionally to resolve any calculation disputes or issues that may arise. Your expertise will also extend to performing cost analysis or modeling of alternative commission and incentive plan designs or quota levels.

Responsibilities

  • Receipt, review and enter into system of record sales requested adjustments to orders
  • Ongoing review, update, and maintenance of commission database used to track & compute variable compensation and set sales quotas
  • Ongoing review and analysis of compensation plan changes
  • Provide subject matter expertise of department policies, processes, and systems
  • Provide instruction and training to other departments on use of departmental systems
  • Financial analysis including performance to sales quota, reconciliation with general ledger, and review of GP at rep and organizational level
  • Proactively identify and articulate opportunities to drive operational efficiencies and increase profitability, including modeling and forecasting improvements (as-is and to-be) with supporting metrics/data
  • Support and perform ad-hoc research and analytical projects including project design, data collection, data modeling, analysis and effective presentation of results or special assignments as required
  • Coordinate with IT, FBA, and all levels of management to gather, analyze & summarize requested or required analysis and to ensure accurate implementation of process and system changes through functional validation
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions
  • Works cross-functionally to resolve any calculation disputes/issues
  • Performs cost analysis or modeling of alternative commission/incentive plan design or quota levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy/Finance from a four-year college or university
  • Three years' experience working with an ERP system, preferably SAP
  • Four years' working in a commissions role
  • Detail oriented
  • Articulate and professional in both oral and written communication, presentation, persuasion and negotiation to achieve desired result
  • Ability to write reports and/or business correspondence and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of sales representatives and sales management
  • Possesses a strong commitment to his/her career with the ability to work weekend days as workload/deadlines require
  • Ability to effectively present information to management
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and system information
  • Well experienced in Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong business acumen across multiple functional areas
  • Ambitious, flexible, and positive. A self-starter who can work under general supervision and adapts well to a dynamic work environment.
