About the position

The Compensation Analyst position at Front Porch is a full-time role that plays a crucial part in managing the organization's compensation plans under the guidance of the Chief Human Resources Officer. This position is responsible for the day-to-day activities necessary to maintain and enhance the compensation structure within the organization. The analyst will engage in various activities such as evaluating job positions, conducting market surveys, analyzing statistical data, drafting job descriptions, and reviewing and recommending adjustments to pay structures. Additionally, the role involves overseeing data integrity in compensation databases, ensuring compliance with federal and state labor laws, and resolving compensation-related issues. In this role, the Compensation Analyst will provide guidance and counsel to managers regarding salary proposals, job evaluations, and promotion requests, aligning these with organizational priorities. The analyst will conduct job studies and analyses to maintain classification and grade equity within the salary structure. Participation in salary surveys and the analysis of market data are also key responsibilities, as is compiling statistical information and preparing reports related to all aspects of the compensation program. The analyst will research, collect, and analyze market data to determine appropriate salary grades and titles for new and existing positions, ensuring internal and external equity. The position requires a strong understanding of human resources compensation programs, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Compensation Analyst will also be expected to demonstrate project management skills, including planning, oversight, and budget management, to ensure timely completion of projects and adherence to deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and counsel to managers on salary proposals, job evaluations, and promotion requests.
  • Conduct job studies and job analysis to maintain position classification and grade equity.
  • Ensure all job descriptions are updated and formatted correctly.
  • Participate in salary surveys and analyze market data.
  • Compile statistical information and prepare reports related to the compensation program.
  • Research, collect, and analyze market data for salary grade and title determinations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws regarding employee compensation.
  • Research and resolve compensation issues.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the administration of Human Resources compensation programs.
  • Thorough knowledge of California and Federal wage and hour laws.
  • Prior knowledge of varied compensation programs, including range structure and survey data interpretation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to develop spreadsheets with formulas, functions, pivot tables, and V-lookups.
