About the position

The Compensation Analyst at Community Memorial Health System (CMHS) plays a crucial role in ensuring pay competitiveness and internal equity within the organization. This position involves reviewing salary changes, developing job descriptions, conducting market analysis, and participating in compensation surveys. The analyst will also handle annual increase cycles and ensure compliance with Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity programs in all compensation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure overall pay competitiveness at CMHS.
  • Review salary changes and contingent offers submitted by management to maintain internal equity.
  • Research and make recommendations for salary grades for new positions.
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions.
  • Research inquiries regarding salary changes and provide recommendations on adjustments.
  • Participate in industry-wide compensation surveys as required.
  • Handle annual increase cycles for staff and management.
  • Perform detailed market analysis to ensure CMHS can recruit and retain quality staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity programs in all compensation practices.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience performing compensation analysis
  • Advanced user of MS Excel (including Vlookups, Pivot Tables)
  • Proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Thorough knowledge of California and Federal labor laws
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines.

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Previous healthcare compensation experience
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification
  • Current Human Resources certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
