About the position

The HR Compensation Analyst at Cleco plays a crucial role in supporting the company's compensation management activities. This position involves conducting salary surveys, analyzing data, and making recommendations to ensure competitive compensation practices. The analyst will work closely with various stakeholders to prepare reports, assist in compensation programs, and maintain data integrity while adhering to company policies and privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with executing all activities associated with compensation management.
  • Conduct salary surveys and analyze data from survey sources to make recommendations.
  • Assist in preparation of compensation increase and incentive programs.
  • Utilize data results to make recommendations and identify trends based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Prepare required reporting and filings related to compensation.
  • Work with internal and external partners including employees, HR team members, and compensation consultants.
  • Perform employee data management and analysis processes to ensure data security and compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Collect, analyze, and compile data from the human content management system for market benchmarking.
  • Participate in market competitive pay positions to ensure pay structure meets company goals.
  • Assist with data collection and reporting for the Executive Compensation section of annual proxy.
  • Compile compensation-related reporting for audits and internal/external data requests.
  • Prepare reports of data results for management and senior leadership.
  • Utilize analytical skills to evaluate and optimize compensation programs.
  • Respond to and resolve ad-hoc compensation related reporting inquiries.
  • Assist with compensation related configurations in Cleco's HCM system.
  • Participate on project teams related to compensation.
  • Maintain integrity and confidentiality of departmental records.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 1+ years of related experience required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive data.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet commitments in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of formal and informal intersections and interdependencies in problem-solving.
  • Compliance-minded with knowledge of compensation philosophy, HR policies, labor laws, and regulations.
  • Ability to relate effectively with all levels of employees and leaders.
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills to parse data and develop rational solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HCM/Compensation system.
  • Experience with a business intelligence platform (such as MS Power BI).
