About the position

The Sr Compensation Analyst at Yahoo serves as a strategic partner and consultant on compensation programs, policies, and practices. This role focuses on developing and implementing compensation strategies that align with Yahoo's pay practices while ensuring market competitiveness, internal equity, and legal compliance. The analyst will collaborate with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and business clients to deliver effective compensation solutions that support overall business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Researches, develops, and implements compensation programs, policies, and procedures aligned with Yahoo's pay practices.
  • Acts as a strategic partner to HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, and business clients by delivering compensation solutions that support business objectives.
  • Partners on compensation programs including annual base pay increases, bonuses, and equity programs.
  • Ensures compliance with all related regulations including FLSA and pay equity.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of progressive compensation and human resources experience.
  • High proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets.
  • Good understanding of broad-based compensation programs (base/bonus/equity), pay for performance, benchmarking/market data, and job evaluation.
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to manage large, complex data sets.
  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of state and federal labor laws related to compensation (FLSA, pay equity requirements, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources, Finance, Business or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in tech or media companies.
  • Professional certification in compensation (CCP) and human resources (PHR).
