About the position

Compeer Financial is seeking a Compensation Analyst to join our dynamic team. This full-time position is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, ensuring they align with organizational policies and market competitiveness. The role involves conducting thorough analyses of internal and external salary data, evaluating job classifications, and ensuring compliance with compensation practices. The Compensation Analyst will serve as a resource for team members and leaders, providing support to the Total Rewards team in administering various compensation and rewards programs. This position offers a hybrid work option, allowing for flexibility in work location, with the primary office based in Sun Prairie, WI, and additional locations in Naperville, IL, Mankato, MN, and Lakeville, MN. In this role, the Compensation Analyst will collaborate with department leaders and HR partners to conduct job analyses and evaluations for new and revised positions. Responsibilities include drafting and updating job descriptions, determining FLSA status, and participating in salary surveys to benchmark compensation programs. The analyst will also conduct market pricing using appropriate survey sources and recommend adjustments to compensation practices based on market competitive analysis. Additionally, the role involves analyzing and recommending compensation packages for job offers, ensuring alignment with internal equity and external market pricing. The Compensation Analyst will assist in designing and administering variable compensation programs, including short and long-term incentive plans, commission plans, and bonus structures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis on internal and external salary data.
  • Evaluate jobs to determine classification and salary.
  • Ensure compensation practices align with organization policies and guidelines.
  • Serve as a compensation resource for team members and leaders.
  • Administer different compensation and rewards programs as needed.
  • Collaborate with department leaders and HR partners to complete job analysis and job evaluation on new and revised positions.
  • Draft, edit, and update job descriptions.
  • Evaluate job descriptions to determine FLSA status and appropriate salary grade.
  • Participate in salary surveys to benchmark company compensation programs.
  • Conduct market pricing using appropriate survey sources and criteria.
  • Analyze market competitive practices in compensation programs and recommend adjustments.
  • Collaborate with HR partners to analyze and recommend compensation packages for job offers.
  • Assist in the design and administration of variable compensation programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of compensation or human resources analytics work experience.
  • Professional compensation or human resources certifications preferred (SPHR, PHR, CCP).
  • Knowledge of FLSA and compensation-related regulations.
  • Knowledge of general industry compensation practices.
  • Strong client service focus and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to make data-driven recommendations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Ability to gather and process large volumes of data for compensation administration.
