About the position

The Compensation Analyst at Memorial Health is responsible for analyzing and consulting on the organization's compensation program and practices. This role involves guiding leadership in developing job descriptions, conducting market pricing and job evaluations to ensure competitive pay, and recommending salary adjustments. The analyst will also participate in compensation surveys and assist in administering performance appraisal and incentive compensation programs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis and consultation in support of the compensation program.
  • Guide leadership in the development of job descriptions according to best practices.
  • Analyze jobs and conduct market pricing/job evaluation to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Consult with others and recommend salary adjustments to ensure competitive and equitable pay.
  • Participate in various compensation surveys conducted by external vendors.
  • Assist in the administration of performance appraisal, merit pay, and incentive compensation programs.

Requirements

  • Education equivalent to graduation from college or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Two or more years of professional-level work experience in HR, finance, or related field is required.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation is highly preferred.
  • Professional HR certification(s) such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP is desirable.
  • Previous experience as a Compensation Analyst in a health care setting is strongly preferred.
  • Proven analytical work experience or analytical aptitude is required.
  • Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and HR Information Systems is required.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail when working with data/information is required.
  • Ability to balance organizational needs while flexing to changing work priorities is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to be persuasive and handle potential conflict.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with project management and incentive compensation.
  • Working knowledge of HR Lawson and Compensation Systems (ideally ePrism).
  • Working knowledge of market pricing, job evaluation methodologies, and base/incentive compensation administration in a health care setting.
  • Knowledge of compensation theory and practices & applicable federal/state labor laws.
