About the position

The Compensation Analyst at CommonSpirit Health plays a crucial role in the analysis and administration of compensation programs, which encompass base pay, incentive pay, and performance management initiatives. This position is integral to ensuring that compensation practices are competitive, equitable, and compliant with regulatory standards. The analyst will engage in various tasks such as evaluating job roles, conducting market pricing, recommending pay grades, and completing compensation surveys. The role requires a thorough understanding of compensation-related data and the ability to perform detailed analyses to support the organization's compensation strategies. In this position, the Compensation Analyst will provide analytic support for the management and implementation of compensation programs. This includes overseeing base pay administration, managing annual salary increase processes, and administering variable pay programs. The analyst will also be responsible for reviewing requests for new or revised job roles, conducting job evaluations, and making recommendations regarding Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) status and salary recommendations to ensure both internal equity and alignment with market standards. Additionally, the Compensation Analyst will prepare regular and ad-hoc reports that detail market compensation data, special pay practices, and internal compensation information. Participation in special projects and collaboration with other HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) and colleagues within CommonSpirit Health is also expected. The role emphasizes continuous improvement of processes and technology that impact compensation programs, ensuring the accuracy of compensation-related data maintained within the company's information systems and databases.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the analysis and administration of CommonSpirit Health compensation programs, including base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs.
  • Evaluate jobs, complete market pricing, recommend pay grades, and conduct compensation surveys.
  • Provide analytic support for compensation program management and implementation, including base pay administration and annual salary increase processes.
  • Support and deliver education and communication of compensation programs.
  • Complete salary surveys, analyze results, and support salary structure creation.
  • Review requests for new or revised jobs, conduct job evaluations, and provide salary recommendations to ensure internal equity and market alignment.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports regarding market compensation data and internal company compensation information.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned and support continuous improvement of processes and technology impacting compensation programs.
  • Ensure accuracy of compensation-related data maintained within company information systems and databases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or five (5) years of related job or industry experience in lieu of degree.
  • Two (2) years of compensation or human resources experience.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in Excel and other spreadsheet and HR Technology applications using quantitative analysis, charting, pivot tables, and formulas.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in presentation and education skills, including delivery and communications as well as technical software.
