About the position

The Compensation Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City plays a crucial role in analyzing and administering employee compensation programs, including base pay and variable pay. This position involves researching market trends, evaluating jobs, and ensuring that compensation practices are competitive and aligned with the Bank's objectives. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of effectively communicating complex information, while also developing expertise in compensation practices to advise senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and administers salary administration and variable pay programs, including budgets and guidelines.
  • Consults with business lines to ensure alignment with policies and compiles reports and metrics.
  • Manages the Bank's job evaluation program by reviewing job documentation and analyzing market data.
  • Conducts and participates in compensation surveys to compile and analyze data for salary structure adjustments.
  • Monitors compensation trends and business issues to ensure competitiveness of the Bank's compensation philosophy.
  • Consults with recruiters, Bank management, and System contacts on compensation issues.
  • Participates in System workgroups and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Typically does not require any previous compensation analysis experience.
  • Three years of relevant experience is preferred, including finance or data analysis, detailed human resources program administration, or human resources program development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel or Tableau preferred.
  • Familiarity with Human Capital Management programs preferred.
