About the position

The Compensation Analyst provides guidance and support to Human Resource Business Partners (HRBPs) and university leaders in the application of compensation policies and procedures. This role involves consultation, salary review, job evaluation, market studies, compliance, data management, and training related to compensation administration.

Responsibilities

  • Consults with HRBPs on the implementation of compensation programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Advises university leaders on compensation rules, job evaluation results, and market studies.
  • Recommends and reviews salary offers and adjustments for internal equity and compliance with guidelines.
  • Assists in planning and administering the annual salary program for faculty and staff.
  • Analyzes job evaluation requests to determine FLSA classification and wage bands.
  • Conducts research and analysis for market and job studies, and submits data to compensation surveys.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal compensation regulations.
  • Maintains and updates compensation data, consulting with HRIS for data integrity.
  • Participates in designing and delivering compensation training programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in human resources, data analysis, or business analysis.
  • Experience with job architectures is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of data organization and analysis best practices.
  • Skill in Excel, including pivot tables and vlookup functions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of job analysis and job evaluation principles.
  • Knowledge of federal and state wage and salary laws.
  • Knowledge of compensation administration principles.
  • Skill in analytical visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
