About the position

The Compensation Analyst position at Montefiore involves providing compensation consulting, education, and analytical support to various stakeholders within the medical center. The role focuses on developing compensation strategies, conducting competitive analyses, and ensuring compliance with compensation commitments. The analyst will also facilitate the administration of annual increases and assist in job evaluations and salary recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze and make recommendations on appropriate classification and compensation for exempt and non-exempt positions.
  • Conduct salary surveys, analyze survey data, and make recommendations to management and Labor Relations.
  • Recommend salary structure and compensation program changes based on analysis.
  • Respond to internal and external requests for salary survey data and perform compression analyses.
  • Assist in the implementation of across-the-board increases and the implementation of union agreements.
  • Prepare salary scales for various groupings in accordance with corresponding contracts.
  • Administer and implement the medical center merit review programs for professional & management positions.
  • Consult with departments concerning compensation, contract interpretation, and Compensation Policy.
  • Develop and recommend new Human Resources forms and questionnaires related to compensation.
  • Review relevant employee records and documents and analyze causes of over/underpayment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or demonstrated knowledge through work equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
  • One year's experience in a related field.
  • Prior compensation administration experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in job description preparation, job evaluation, incentive plan development, and compensation planning.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of regulations and legislation governing compensation (i.e., ADA, DOL, FLSA, EEO, NYS Wage/Hour).
  • Strong quantitative, data analysis, and organization skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and HRIS platforms.
  • Knowledge of current compensation practices including labor and pay laws.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare organization preferred.
  • Prior union experience preferred.
