About the position

The Compensation Analyst at UC Irvine serves as a subject matter expert in compensation, providing consulting services to local HR teams, leadership, and employees regarding various compensation-related issues. This role involves processing wage programs, conducting job evaluations, and ensuring compliance with federal employment laws and regulations. The analyst will also assist in the planning and implementation of classification programs and strategies for Community Network hospitals, while leveraging their comprehensive understanding of compensation concepts to resolve complex issues effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consulting services to local HR teams, leadership, and employees regarding compensation and classification issues.
  • Process approved wage programs, including across-the-board increases and equity adjustments.
  • Conduct job evaluations and compensation analyses, developing necessary communications and resources.
  • Assist local HR teams with planning and implementing new classification programs and strategies.
  • Interpret and apply HR policies, Collective Bargaining Agreements, and relevant laws related to compensation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal employment laws and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Assist with compensation services outside the Community Network hospitals as needed.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • At least 2 years of experience working as a Compensation Analyst.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of compensation functions and general HR areas.
  • Analytical skills to interpret large data sets and identify trends.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey findings clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple assignments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for consultation on HR issues.
  • Ability to prioritize competing work assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience administering classification and job evaluation tools.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience.
