About the position

The Compensation Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting Memorial Health System's compensation program by performing analysis and consultation. This position guides leadership in developing job descriptions, conducts market pricing and job evaluations to ensure competitiveness, and recommends salary adjustments to maintain equitable pay for employees. The analyst also participates in external compensation surveys and assists in administering performance appraisal and incentive compensation programs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis and consultation in support of the compensation program.
  • Guide leadership in the development of job descriptions according to best practices.
  • Analyze jobs and conduct market pricing/job evaluation to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Consult with others and recommend salary adjustments as necessary.
  • Participate in various compensation surveys conducted by external vendors.
  • Assist in the administration of performance appraisal, merit pay, and incentive compensation programs.

Requirements

  • Education equivalent to graduation from college or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Two or more years of professional-level work experience in HR, finance, or a related field is required.
  • Proven analytical work experience or analytical aptitude is required.
  • Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and HR Information Systems is required.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail when working with data/information is required.
  • Ability to work with senior leadership on confidential and time-sensitive matters is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation is highly preferred.
  • Professional HR certification(s) such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP is desirable.
  • Previous experience as a Compensation Analyst in a health care setting is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience with project management and incentive compensation is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HR Lawson and Compensation Systems (ideally ePrism) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of compensation theory and practices & applicable federal/state labor laws is preferred.
