About the position

The Compensation Analyst position at the City of Austin is primarily responsible for collecting and analyzing market data, responding to external salary surveys, and supporting the Compensation Division in determining market rates for job descriptions. This role involves ensuring data integrity in HRIS, auditing job descriptions, and maintaining compensation metrics for the City-wide compensation plan.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze market data for compensation purposes.
• Respond to external salary surveys and provide insights.
• Support Compensation Consultants in determining market rates for job descriptions.
• Review and correct HRIS data to ensure data integrity for reporting.
• Audit and review job descriptions for accuracy and consistency.
• Collect and maintain internal compensation metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
• Two years of experience in a related field, with experience substituting for education up to four years.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Workday.
• Strong writing and organizational skills.
• Leadership abilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in conducting and completing salary surveys.
• Experience in analyzing market data, including costing and geographically adjusting data.
• Experience in writing and editing job descriptions.
