About the position

The Compensation Analyst at Community Memorial Health System (CMHS) is responsible for ensuring pay competitiveness and internal equity within the organization. This role involves reviewing salary changes, conducting market analysis, and participating in compensation surveys to support recruitment and retention efforts. The analyst will also ensure compliance with labor laws and affirmative action programs in compensation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure overall pay competitiveness at CMHS.
  • Review salary changes and contingent offers submitted by management to maintain internal equity.
  • Research and recommend salary grades for new positions and develop/maintain job descriptions.
  • Handle inquiries regarding salary changes and provide recommendations on adjustments.
  • Participate in industry-wide compensation surveys as required.
  • Manage annual increase cycles for staff and management.
  • Perform detailed market analysis to support recruitment and retention of quality staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity programs in compensation practices.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience performing compensation analysis.
  • Advanced user of MS Excel, including Vlookups and Pivot Tables.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Thorough knowledge of California and Federal labor laws.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Previous healthcare compensation experience preferred.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification preferred.
  • Current Human Resources certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
