About the position

The Compensation Department at Milliman Global Corporate Services (GCS) is seeking a Compensation Analyst to join their team. This role is pivotal in assisting the Senior Compensation Manager with essential tasks related to job analysis and the positioning of the organization's pay programs. The Compensation Analyst will be responsible for evaluating the organization's jobs, documenting their responsibilities and requirements in job descriptions, and maintaining the Applicant Tracking System (UKG) Recruiting. This includes reviewing, publishing, and monitoring positions while providing coaching to internal clients on the new job code system and posting process. In addition to these core responsibilities, the Compensation Analyst will contribute organizational data to and analyze the results of compensation surveys. Conducting market analysis of company jobs to determine the competitive positioning of the organization's pay programs is also a key aspect of this role. The analyst will work with a new Compensation Management system to assist in configuration and data management for Practices, enabling the year-end compensation process. Collaboration with department management and HR Business Partners on external market data and internal pay equity issues will be essential. The role also involves participation in annual salary administration programs, including the creation and maintenance of salary structures and the development of incentive or salary increase budgets. The Compensation Analyst will assist with the administration of annual performance management, incentive, or salary increase programs, and will be responsible for creating ad hoc reports and completing audits of compensation, job codes, and other job-related information housed in the company's HRIS system. Other duties may be assigned as needed, making this a dynamic and engaging position within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the organization's jobs, documenting responsibilities and requirements in job descriptions.

  • Work in a new Compensation Management system to assist in configuration and data management for Practices and enable the year-end compensation process.
  • Work with department management and HR Business Partners on external market data and internal pay equity issues.
  • Participate in annual salary administration programs, including salary structure creation and maintenance and development of incentive or salary increase budgets.
  • Participate in the administration of annual performance management, incentive, or salary increase programs.
  • Assist with the setup of the company's salary management, market data and job architect tool, Salary.com.
  • Create ad hoc reports and complete audits of compensation, job codes, and other job-related information housed in the company's HRIS system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • 2 years of compensation experience and working with HR business partners and/or generalists, managers, and employees within the company.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Suite of products, specifically Excel with formulas.
  • Experience using HRIS systems and recruiting systems to process transactions and/or post jobs.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information.
  • Ability to respond actively and sensitively to customer needs and problems and adhere to deadlines.
  • History of accepting change and responding to setbacks positively with minimal disruption.
  • Ability to learn quickly when facing new problems and embrace the challenge of unfamiliar tasks.
  • Experience communicating effectively and professionally with all management, co-workers, and all Practices within the company.
  • History of adhering to work schedules and completing all assigned tasks on time.
  • Demonstrated ability to make well-reasoned and timely decisions that favorably affect work performance and customer service.
