About the position

As a Compensation Analyst at Gates, you will play a crucial role in supporting and administering the day-to-day activities related to compensation programs. This position is based in either our Denver, Englewood, or Rochester Hills office and involves contributing to large-scale compensation projects. You will be responsible for evaluating and analyzing salary data, determining pay grades and job levels, and completing compensation surveys. Your role will also include conducting job evaluations and providing recommendations to HR Business Partners and business line managers. In addition to these responsibilities, you will support compensation tools, processes, and systems that enable the implementation of compensation strategies, including annual merit and bonus processes. You will review jobs for internal leveling and serve as a resource to HR Managers regarding salary offers and promotions. This includes reviewing pay actions that fall outside of standard compensation practices and offering alternatives to maintain internal consistency, competitiveness, and compliance with governmental regulations. You will also support production roles and structures in certain regions and assist in the global annual salary and bonus planning process. Your role will require you to assist in the development of compensation-related communication and training materials, delivering presentations to HR Business Partners and local management. You will complete salary survey submissions for specific regions and conduct annual reviews of market data to ensure that salary structures remain competitive. Additionally, you will conduct research and analysis of compensation programs and practices, supporting HR projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Complete salary survey submissions for certain regions and conduct annual reviews of market data to ensure competitive salary structures.
  • Conduct research and analysis of compensation programs and practices.
  • Support HR projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or Human Resource Management.
  • 2+ years of compensation experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in Excel with excellent analytical techniques.
  • Experience with Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with job evaluation tools; knowledge of Towers Watson and/or Mercer methodologies preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS systems; working knowledge of Oracle is a plus.
  • Experience with Compensation Planning tools; working knowledge of SuccessFactors modules is a plus.
  • Demonstrated maturity in dealing with all levels in a fast-paced environment and the ability to maintain confidentiality of all employee information.
  • Knowledge of FLSA requirements.
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with both internal and external vendors and customers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional compensation planning tools.
  • Familiarity with advanced Excel functions and data analysis techniques.
