About the position

The Compensation & Benefit Analyst at Pelican Products, Inc. serves as an internal consultant to the Human Resources department and cross-functional business leaders. This role is pivotal in maintaining the organization's global compensation plans, programs, and policies. The analyst will support the Benefits Manager by providing administrative assistance and coverage for the department. Key responsibilities include participating in position benchmarking, job description creation, job valuation, data analysis, and salary structure administration. The analyst will also engage in Total Rewards related projects and initiatives, driving the compensation strategy, managing the annual merit process, and implementing market adjustment initiatives and process improvements. In this role, the analyst will partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders to finalize global compensation packages that are equitable and competitive. They will contribute to the development and governance of the compensation philosophy, ensuring that compensation programs are legally compliant, competitive, and aligned with business results. The analyst will conduct market analysis to determine competitive positioning of pay programs and participate in annual salary administration projects, including salary structure evaluation and maintenance. Additionally, they will provide compensation data and analysis to business leaders and assist the Benefits Manager with various administrative tasks related to employee benefits. The position requires a proactive approach to managing compensation functions and administering related programs and policies. The analyst will also be responsible for processing billing, resolving discrepancies with insurance providers, and monitoring employee selections and payroll deductions in the benefit administration system. They will create and prepare reports, assist with day-to-day activities of the organization's benefit programs, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an internal consultant to the Human Resources department and cross-functional business leaders.
  • Maintain the organization's global compensation plans, programs, and policies.
  • Support the Benefits Manager with administrative tasks and department coverage.
  • Participate in position benchmarking, job description creation, job valuation, and data analysis.
  • Engage in salary structure administration and Total Rewards related projects.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders to finalize global compensation packages.
  • Contribute to the development and governance of the compensation philosophy.
  • Evaluate compensation programs for legal compliance and competitiveness.
  • Manage the compensation function and administer related programs and policies.
  • Conduct market analysis of jobs to determine competitive pay positioning.
  • Participate in annual salary administration projects, including salary structure evaluation.
  • Provide compensation data and analysis to business leaders.
  • Process billing and resolve discrepancies with insurance providers.
  • Approve, monitor, troubleshoot, and audit employee selections and payroll deductions in the benefit administration system.
  • Create and prepare required reports including census, enrollment summaries, and audit files.
  • Assist with day-to-day activities of the organization's benefit programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in Compensation and Benefits.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience working in Compensation and Benefits.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in compensation program design and administration.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suites (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong skills in HRIS and Talent Management platform administration.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently on complex issues.
  • Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor laws such as FLSA and OFCCP regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong skills in HRIS and Talent Management specifically in the Dayforce platform.
  • Experienced executive communicator, preferably with C-Suite Leaders.
  • Global compensation program experience preferred.
