Eide Bailly is seeking a Compensation & Benefits Tax Senior Associate to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide consulting services for compensation and benefits taxation and ERISA compliance. Your responsibilities will include assessing tax and ERISA issues related to the establishment, implementation, and ongoing administration of both single and multi-employer retirement and welfare benefit plans. You will consult on various issues related to tax-qualified and non-tax-qualified retirement plans and executive compensation arrangements, including 401(k) plans, traditional defined benefit plans, insured annuity programs, and nonqualified deferred compensation plans. Additionally, you will address issues related to welfare benefit programs, such as insured medical plans, healthcare reimbursement accounts, and flexible spending accounts. A typical day will involve performing research on technical tax and ERISA issues, preparing written communications summarizing and analyzing your findings, and monitoring new legislative, regulatory, and administrative developments in compensation and benefits tax and ERISA. You will also draft employee benefit plan participant communications and forms, review and negotiate service provider agreements related to ERISA plan investments, and assist with IRS and DOL compliance filings for benefit plans. Analyzing prohibited transaction and other fiduciary issues will also be part of your responsibilities.
