About the position

The Compensation Consultant serves as the primary contact for Human Resources and business unit leaders, providing expert consultation on all compensation-related matters. This role involves developing and implementing compensation programs, conducting market analysis, and ensuring compliance with compensation policies. The consultant will work closely with various departments to support pay equity and attract diverse talent.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with business unit leaders and HR staff on compensation programs to ensure consistent practices and pay equity.
  • Conduct or coordinate participation in external surveys related to employee compensation and policies.
  • Perform analysis and make recommendations based on survey results.
  • Evaluate positions for market competitive pay and compliance with FLSA laws.
  • Provide guidance on job offers to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Collaborate with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion on annual pay equity studies and corrective actions.
  • Support the annual compensation planning process.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to guide leaders on salary increases and incentives.
  • Conduct reporting and audits to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Assist with special projects related to acquisitions or divestitures.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in compensation trends and issues.
  • Implement effective communications for compensation programs and policies.
  • Lead or assist in managing employee recognition programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources management, industrial management, or a related discipline; or Associate's degree with two additional years of HR experience.
  • Four years of human resources experience, including two years of compensation experience.
  • Expert technical knowledge and analytical skills in spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.
  • Knowledge of various wage and hour laws.
  • Strong consulting, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • World at Work designation as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.
  • Experience with Workday HR preferred.
