About the position

Trupanion is a leading provider of medical insurance for cats and dogs in North America, dedicated to helping loving, responsible pet owners budget and care for their pets. The Total Rewards team at Trupanion is seeking an organized and detail-oriented analyst to support initiatives in both equity and compensation, aligning with the team's vision of making Trupanion an exceptional workplace. This role is crucial for analyzing salary and incentive data, developing compensation policies, and administering employee bonus plans and equity-based compensation programs. The successful candidate will be involved in project work, monthly recurring business operations, and occasional ad hoc support as needed. This position is open to candidates in the Seattle area and offers a hybrid remote/in-office schedule, requiring at least three days a week in our casual, pet-friendly office. In this role, you will analyze salary and incentive data to identify trends and make recommendations for adjustments. You will assist in the development and implementation of compensation policies and procedures, administer employee bonus plans, and design new bonus plans based on business priorities. Additionally, you will monitor existing plan models to ensure their effectiveness, process stock option grants through the Etrade stock management platform, and ensure compliance with stock plan regulations and SOX standards. Maintaining and updating compensation databases, preparing data imports and reports, conducting data quality audits, and coordinating with HR, finance, and legal departments will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze salary and incentive data to identify trends and make recommendations for adjustments
  • Assist in the development and implementation of compensation policies and procedures
  • Administer employee bonus plans and equity-based compensation programs
  • Design and build new bonus plans based on business priorities
  • Design and implement executive compensation plans
  • Monitor existing plan models to ensure effectiveness
  • Process stock option grants, exercises, and forfeitures through Etrade stock management platform
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable stock plan regulations and SOX standards
  • Maintain and update compensation databases and systems
  • Prepare data imports and reports as needed
  • Conduct data quality audits and implement improvements
  • Coordinate with HR, finance, and legal departments

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of analytical experience in a field that analyzes budget/spend efficiency
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • 1-2 years of experience with equity administration
  • 1-2 years of experience with E*trade
  • Experience working with confidential data
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Comfortable communicating with various business stakeholders
  • A willingness and motivation to tackle problems in creative ways
