About the position

The Compensation Management Analyst position at the New Mexico Crime Victims Reparation Commission (CVRC) is dedicated to assisting victims of crime through the victim compensation application process. The primary mission of CVRC is to provide financial assistance to victims of violent crime for expenses incurred as a result of being victimized. This role is crucial in ensuring that victims receive the support they need by managing the application process, maintaining accurate records, and providing statistical reporting to the department. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing information and compiling victim data accurately, which is essential for the effective functioning of the commission. In this role, the analyst will manage the filing system and applications for victims of crime, ensuring their completeness and accuracy. This includes preparing initial correspondence to victims, entering and uploading compensation applications into the database, and assigning applications to state investigators. The analyst will also oversee the maintenance of victim files and prepare them for archiving in accordance with state regulations. Additionally, the position requires serving as a backup for the Administrative Secretary when needed and assisting staff in the daily operations of the office to ensure efficiency. Recording minutes at the monthly Commission Meeting may also be part of the responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and experience in record management, particularly in handling confidential information. This role is vital for the commission as it directly impacts the support provided to victims of crime in New Mexico.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the filing system and applications for victims of crime to ensure their completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare initial correspondence to victims of crime.
  • Enter and upload victim compensation applications into the victim compensation database.
  • Assign compensation applications to state investigators.
  • Manage the maintenance of victim files and preparation of victim files to be archived.
  • In charge of all compensation records management for the purpose of following the state archive process in accordance with State Archives and Record Center.
  • Serve as backup for Administrative Secretary when absent.
  • Provide assistance to staff in the daily functioning of the office and ensure that the office performs in an efficient manner.
  • Record minutes at the monthly Commission Meeting as needed.

Requirements

  • Associates degree and two (2) years of experience in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning.
  • Experience in record management.
  • Experience in handling confidential information.
