About the position

We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Compensation & Payroll Manager to manage and optimize payroll processes, compensation strategies, and benefit administration for both US and global employees, including contractors. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in payroll processing, benefits administration, and compensation analysis. Experience with Rippling, global payroll, stock options administration (using Carta), and financial reporting are highly desirable. In this role, you will oversee payroll for US employees, specifically in states such as California, New York, Texas, Washington, and Oregon, while also managing global payroll for regions like Canada, the UK, and France. You will generate reports using Rippling and other systems to ensure accurate data for payroll, benefits, and compensation reporting. Additionally, you will ensure the accuracy of payroll-related invoices and manage employee benefits programs, including open enrollment and benefit plan selection in collaboration with finance. You will also be responsible for managing stock options using Carta, including grants, maintenance, and cap table reporting. Your role will involve working with pay bands and compensation structures to drive pay equity and competitive salaries. You will maintain accurate data entry in Carta, provide reporting for cap tables, and assist in the administration of employee stock grants. Furthermore, you will ensure accurate payroll data reporting to facilitate month-end close and reconciliations while maintaining data confidentiality. You will provide headcount metrics, attrition analysis, and regrettable attrition reporting to Finance monthly, and collaborate with HR and Finance to conduct annual benefit analysis, forecasting, and vendor selection. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HR and Finance to conduct annual benefit analysis, forecasting, and vendor selection.
  • Track, report, and facilitate the payout of bonuses and commissions.
  • Assist in salary forecasting and contribute to financial modeling with up-to-date payroll data.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in US & global payroll and compensation.
  • Experience working in a startup or smaller-sized business.
  • Deep experience with US payroll, including CA, NY, TX, WA, OR, and global payroll for Canada, UK, and France.
  • Strong knowledge of Rippling and payroll systems, along with experience managing stock options in Carta.
  • Expertise in managing payments for both US and international contractors.
  • Prior experience reporting payroll data to accounting and finance teams, supporting month-end close processes.
  • Familiarity with administering benefits plans and the ability to conduct cost analysis for vendor selection.
  • Experience with compensation projects, job leveling, and pay band administration.
  • Strong Excel and intermediate financial analysis skills, financial modeling skills preferred.
