About the position

The Compensation Programs Analyst role at Google involves analyzing and managing compensation solutions to support the organization's staffing needs. This position requires a strong analytical background and the ability to work with large data sets to inform compensation planning and policy development. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective compensation strategies are implemented and monitored for success.

Responsibilities

  • Build robust data models and analyses leading into each compensation planning cycle and manage tools and resources available for the organization's use during compensation planning.
  • Build reusable technology to scale and sustain program delivery and reusable analytics to automate insights and findings.
  • Manipulate large data sets and convey findings to leadership.
  • Participate in the research, development, and administration of assigned compensation programs, and monitor program success.
  • Create, consult, and review compensation policies and processes.
  • Work on projects such as deep dives, performance rating analysis and compensation policies.
  • Analyze compensation outcomes, draw conclusions and make recommendations for future consideration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, or another field that uses quantitative analysis, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in analytical HR role, investment banking, management consulting (e.g., strategy, compensation) or similar analytical role.
  • Experience using analytical methods, tools, and mathematical concepts to identify, design, recommend, and implement compensation solutions.
  • Experience with HR policies, practices, principles, state and federal employment laws, and related regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Psychology, Statistics, Business Administration, or another field that uses quantitative analysis, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, executive compensation consulting, or similar fields.
  • Experience in managing large data sets.
  • Experience with SQL or R.
  • Ability to consult/present findings to stakeholders.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $111,000-$163,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
