About the position

Google is renowned for its innovative technologies, products, and services, and this role is pivotal in supporting the organization’s compensation strategies. As a Compensation Programs Analyst, you will be at the forefront of building robust data models and analyses that inform each compensation planning cycle. Your work will involve managing the tools and resources available for the organization during these planning cycles, ensuring that the processes are efficient and effective. You will also be responsible for creating reusable technology that scales and sustains program delivery, as well as developing reusable analytics that automate insights and findings. In this role, you will manipulate large data sets to extract meaningful insights and convey your findings to leadership. Your participation will extend to the research, development, and administration of assigned compensation programs, where you will monitor the success of these programs and make necessary adjustments. You will create, consult, and review compensation policies and processes, ensuring they align with best practices and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will work on various projects, including deep dives into compensation data, performance rating analysis, and the formulation of compensation policies. Your analytical skills will be crucial as you analyze compensation outcomes, draw conclusions, and make recommendations for future considerations, ultimately contributing to the strategic direction of Google’s compensation framework.

Responsibilities

  • Build robust data models and analyses leading into each compensation planning cycle and manage tools and resources available for the organization's use during compensation planning.
  • Build reusable technology to scale and sustain program delivery and reusable analytics to automate insights and findings.
  • Manipulate large data sets and convey findings to leadership.
  • Participate in the research, development, and administration of assigned compensation programs, and monitor program success.
  • Create, consult, and review compensation policies and processes.
  • Work on projects such as deep dives, performance rating analysis and compensation policies.
  • Analyze compensation outcomes, draw conclusions and make recommendations for future consideration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, or another field that uses quantitative analysis, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in analytical HR role, investment banking, management consulting (e.g., strategy, compensation) or similar analytical role.
  • Experience using analytical methods, tools, and mathematical concepts to identify, design, recommend, and implement compensation solutions.
  • Experience with HR policies, practices, principles, state and federal employment laws, and related regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Psychology, Statistics, Business Administration, or another field that uses quantitative analysis, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, executive compensation consulting, or similar fields.
  • Experience in managing large data sets.
  • Experience with SQL or R.
  • Ability to consult/present findings to stakeholders.
