In this role, the Compensation Program Manager is the Subject Matter Expert on compensation matters and is responsible for managing the compensation plans, programs, and structures for Draeger North America. This position ensures that compensation programs are executed according to policies and procedures, effectively managed, and that all timelines and deliverables are met. The role involves managing the external market survey process to collect and analyze information, assess the company's competitive position, and recommend opportunities to launch new or refine existing compensation plans. The Compensation Program Manager provides guidance and makes recommendations to HR and business leadership on compensation issues at all levels and functional areas of the organization, ensuring that the compensation philosophy, strategies, and structures are aligned to best support the organization's current and future needs. In terms of annual programs, the Compensation Program Manager partners closely with the Director of Total Rewards to ensure an accurate reflection of management directives and overall business performance. This includes managing all aspects of annual compensation programs such as the annual merit review, bonus, and growth promotion programs. Responsibilities include researching and preparing budget recommendations, developing timelines and guidelines, establishing and tracking project plans, and developing and deploying communications for various audiences. The role also involves coordinating program launches with HR Business Partners to ensure they have all necessary tools and resources to complete their roles, and recommending changes to programs based on market trends, business needs, or process improvement principles. The position is also responsible for all external market processes, programs, and platforms, ensuring timely and accurate data submissions to various vendors. The Compensation Program Manager reviews and interprets results, identifying labor market trends and areas of additional focus in support of Draeger North America's compensation programs. Managing relationships with vendors from various surveys and platforms, such as AON, Mercer, and PayScale, is crucial, as is maintaining familiarity with market offerings to ensure selected vendors are best suited to fit the organization's current and future needs. Additionally, the role involves managing Draeger North America's salary and job structures, conducting job reviews, and recommending actions that align with compensation initiatives while ensuring consistency with internal guidelines, policies, practices, procedures, and relevant external regulations. In collaboration with the Director of Total Rewards, the Compensation Program Manager develops compensation philosophy and principles for Draeger NA, ensuring that projects, programs, and structures align with these philosophies and strategies. The position also supports audits by providing requested compensation documentation and monitors changes to relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance. Finally, the Compensation Program Manager supports the implementation of a more robust HR analytics program, developing reporting and presentation materials as necessary, and performs other duties as needed and assigned.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related area required.
  • 7+ years of compensation experience including deployment of a wide range of compensation processes and project management.
  • Benefits experience preferred.
  • Experience with PayScale Market Pay tool is a strong plus.
  • At least 2 years of non-compensation HR experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated capability to deliver compensation programs according to plans while engaging others on the HR team.
  • Expert level of proficiency in using desktop applications (e.g., MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Project).
  • Experience with using HRIS platforms such as SAP or SuccessFactors.
  • Strong knowledge of other applications such as Power BI and MS Access.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Team player with demonstrated project management competencies.

  • Certified Compensation Professional certification is a plus.
