The Competitive Intelligence Research Analyst at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP plays a crucial role in supporting the firm's business and client development efforts by conducting in-depth research and analysis. This position involves utilizing various internal and external resources to gather, synthesize, and deliver competitive intelligence information, ensuring that the firm remains informed about industry trends and client needs. The role requires collaboration with a local and virtual team, and it offers a hybrid working schedule across several major office locations.
Responsibilities
- Perform in-depth research using various legal and financial databases.
- Analyze external data related to clients, industries, and practices.
- Identify cross-selling and promotional opportunities for legal services.
- Conduct research to support client pitches and respond to RFPs.
- Monitor legal industry trends and their relevance to firm initiatives.
- Create and distribute CI products such as analytical reports and client profiles.
- Use technology to gather and disseminate competitive intelligence deliverables.
- Share resources and communicate effectively with team members.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Library Science or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a research-focused role in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced skills in using research tools such as Lexis Advance, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, and others.
- Demonstrated project management skills and strong customer service abilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with PitchBook and other financial analysis tools.
- Familiarity with legal industry trends and regulations.
