About the position

The Competitive Marketing Intelligence Manager at Teradata is responsible for transforming competitive insights into actionable business strategies, primarily focusing on Databricks, with additional coverage of Google BigQuery and Cloudera. This role involves delivering strategic insights that drive revenue and enhance market position, serving as a trusted advisor across product, marketing, and sales teams. The manager will translate complex technical differentiators into compelling narratives and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of competitive intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Own competitive intelligence gathering and analysis for Databricks, Google BigQuery, and Cloudera, delivering actionable insights that drive business decisions
  • Conduct comprehensive research using both internal and external sources
  • Create and maintain competitive battle cards, deep dives, and sales enablement materials
  • Partner with product management to influence roadmap decisions based on competitive analysis
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop differentiated positioning and messaging
  • Provide real-time sales support for high-stakes competitive deals
  • Develop and deliver competitive training programs for global sales teams
  • Maintain and evolve the competitive intelligence knowledge base
  • Present competitive insights and recommendations to executive leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Business, Marketing, Technology, or similar)
  • 5+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research, or product marketing
  • Deep understanding of analytics technologies such as AI/ML, analytical platforms, and data warehousing
  • Knowledge of GenAI and large language models (LLMs), vector data stores, open table formats is a plus
  • Experience with the enterprise software sales cycle
  • Proven track record of enabling sales teams in competitive situations
  • Knowledge of the cloud ecosystem including public cloud providers and hybrid cloud environments
