About the position

The Competitive Soccer Lead at Bold Charter School is responsible for developing and leading the school's soccer program, ensuring that students experience a learning environment that promotes health, fitness, and teamwork. This role involves collaboration with community organizations, fostering a positive school culture, and providing coaching and feedback to students and staff. The position aims to inspire students to excel in athletics and academics while embodying the school's core values.

Responsibilities

• Drive the development of Bold's soccer program, including instructional, club, and competitive team opportunities.
• Develop a coaching strategy and model that sets a strong foundation for growth at Bold's flagship location in the Bronx and beyond.
• Collaborate with Bold's talent team to build relationships with local community organizations and leagues, creating opportunities for students to compete alongside peers from top-performing schools and teams across the city.
• Contribute to a school culture that inspires a love of athletics and a personal commitment to fitness and wellness.
• Teach through a variety of instructional methods and activities that inspire intellectual curiosity and develop critical thinking.
• Model Bold's core values and build a positive student and team culture across the school.
• Train with colleagues and school leaders, implementing feedback with grace and urgency in service of student achievement and a values-based school culture.
• Develop strong relationships with families and students, ensuring regular communication that fosters investment in school culture, athletics, and academics.
• Demonstrate a mission-first mindset to ensure all decisions and actions are rooted in ensuring that all students excel.

Requirements

• Experience coaching, developing, and leading soccer programs in a K-12 setting with a proven track record of success.
• Hold exceptionally high standards for performance and an excellence reflex that constantly raises the bar.
• Experience coaching and developing teams to high levels of performance.
• Ability to translate data into actionable insights that drive outcomes.
• Strong commitment to and alignment with the mission, beliefs, and values of Bold.
• Unwavering belief in the potential that all students can learn paired with conviction to ensure all students will learn.
• High moral character.
• Ability to work within a fast-paced and dynamic team environment where responsibility for student success is shared and owned by everyone.
• Commitment to solutions-based problem solving and previous experience of such.
• Valid NYS teaching certification (preferred, but not required).
• Bachelor's degree with an outstanding record of achievement and leadership.
