About the position

The Completions Engineer (CE) is responsible for the design, planning, and execution support of completions, workovers, and interventions in the oil and gas sector. This role involves ensuring compliance with local regulations and company practices while delivering safe and productive wells through collaboration with multi-discipline teams. The CE also plays a key role in mentoring less experienced engineers and implementing new technologies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, compliant, reliable, competitive, and productive wells through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Provide technical guidance during execution issues or problems.
  • Support the sharing and implementation of lessons learned and best practices.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced engineers.
  • Provide engineering input for risk assessments and MoCs related to completions, workovers, and interventions operations.
  • Prepare accurate time and cost estimates for projects.
  • Develop programs adhering to Technical File Notes and Completions Design Documents.
  • Implement new completions procedures and share learnings across assets.
  • Develop and integrate project plans with key stakeholders.
  • Review benchmarking of completions execution and performance for continuous improvement.
  • Recommend and author completions and subsea tree or surface tree procedures.
  • Provide operational support to the Well Superintendent and Well Site Leader.
  • Ensure effective well project closure and handover to Area Production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (or higher) in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum).
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in completions, workovers, and interventions engineering and operations.
  • Experience in subsea completions and GoM offshore operations.
  • Valid Well Control Certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with sand control completions.
  • Knowledge of production operations and flow assurance challenges.
  • Ability to challenge conventional thinking and apply innovative ideas.
