About the position

The Complex Controller is responsible for directing the financial activities of the facility, ensuring effective fiscal procedures and controls are in place. This role involves analyzing performance, recommending actions to maximize financial returns, and providing leadership to the accounting staff. The Controller ensures compliance with accounting principles and corporate policies, manages the preparation and analysis of strategic plans, and oversees the finance staff's daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Direct the financial activities of the facility by establishing and maintaining effective fiscal procedures and controls.
• Analyze performance and recommend or direct actions needed to maximize financial return.
• Provide leadership to the accounting staff regarding people development activities.
• Ensure accurate books and records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Ensure compliance with established division and corporate policies, procedures, and practices.
• Direct the preparation and analysis of the annual strategic plan and capital plan.
• Manage the finance staff on a day-to-day basis, including financial transactions and analytical work.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree with a focus on accounting and/or finance.
• Five years managing a financial/accounting department.
• Three years' experience in a manufacturing-related environment.
• Proven ability to analyze financial statements and identify potential problems.
• CPA preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the corrugated industry preferred.
