About the position

The Complex Director of Sales and Marketing at the Courtyard Rocky Mount and Residence Inn Rocky Mount is a pivotal role that requires a dynamic and experienced individual to lead the sales and marketing efforts for both properties. This position is hybrid, allowing for flexibility in work-from-home arrangements while also necessitating a strong presence in the local market. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational and communication skills, along with a proven track record in hospitality sales. The role demands a proactive approach to soliciting new and existing accounts, with the goal of exceeding revenue targets through various channels including telephone, email, and outside sales calls. The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies, particularly in digital marketing and social media, to enhance the visibility and appeal of the properties. In addition to driving sales, the Complex Director will oversee a sales team, ensuring that each member meets their individual sales goals. This includes the ability to book new group and catering business, as well as managing the logistics of events through effective communication with clients. The role also involves creating group and catering offers, assisting in marketing efforts, and maintaining detailed records of all sales activities in the designated software systems. The candidate must be prepared to provide weekend office coverage as needed, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the role. Overall, this position is integral to the success of the properties, requiring a blend of strategic thinking, leadership, and hands-on execution.

Responsibilities

  • Solicitation of new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through various channels.
  • Ability to book new group and catering business.
  • Oversee a sales team and execute sales goals for each individual.
  • Communicate with ownership as needed and develop action plans.
  • Develop group and catering offers on a regular basis and assist in marketing as needed.
  • Drive digital marketing and social media strategies and execute as needed.
  • Set up and execute events as needed.
  • Work directly with clients to form Banquet Event Orders to accomplish their goals.
  • Assist with other areas as assigned by the General Manager and Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
  • Log all sales-related activity in the sales software system.
  • Utilize onsite reservation system - StaynTouch and Delphi fdc preferred to manage group reservations.
  • Provide weekend office coverage as needed.

Requirements

  • 2 years of hotel sales experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office, Internet Explorer/Google Chrome.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Display initiative, perseverance, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Professional and ethical demeanor.
  • Displays enthusiasm and excellent customer service skills.
  • Team player with the ability to get along with others.
  • Available to meet guests, which may include weekends.
