About the position

The Director of Sales and Marketing at Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria is a pivotal role responsible for driving the hotel's revenue through effective sales strategies and revenue management. This position reports directly to the General Manager and supervises a team that includes the Director of Catering, Sales Managers, Reservations Manager, and Sales Administrative Assistants across both Springhill Suites and Marriott properties. The primary objective of this role is to generate budgeted top-line revenue and RevPAR for the hotel, ensuring that all revenue goals are met or exceeded through a comprehensive revenue management strategy. In this role, the Director will lead, train, and mentor the sales staff, which includes responsibilities such as hiring, coaching, performance evaluations, and managing disciplinary actions. The Director will also be the driving force behind all revenue initiatives, ensuring that quarterly and annual revenue goals are achieved. This includes developing sales action plans, forecasting, and evaluating market trends to adjust strategies that will enhance revenue effectively. The Director will ensure the hotel participates in all brand revenue management initiatives and assist in the production of the annual hotel business plan, while also developing and maintaining the departmental budget. Regular property revenue meetings will be led by the Director, focusing on maximizing revenue and profit across all areas of the hotel. The role also requires adherence to hotel credit procedures and audit guidelines, along with timely submission of required reports to the General Manager, Regional Vice President, and DDC Corporate Office. Building and maintaining good relationships with local civic groups, companies, and the DDC Corporate Sales & Marketing staff is essential for success in this position. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain good relationship with DDC Corporate Sales & Marketing staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years hotel sales experience or the equivalent amount of industry experience; OR equivalent level of education and work experience.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive to customer appointments.
  • Computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, and familiarity with brand specific property Management System(s).
  • Ability to exercise excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management and listening skills.
  • Ability to use analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel.
  • Ability to successfully interact with all levels of customers and hotel management.
