About the position

The Complex General Manager at W Chicago - City Center is responsible for overseeing the overall operations, strategy, and growth of the hotel. This role requires strong leadership and management skills to ensure exceptional guest experiences, operational efficiency, and financial success. The position involves developing strategic plans, leading a diverse team, managing operations across various departments, and fostering a guest-centric culture.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan to drive the hotels' growth and profitability.
• Lead a diverse team of department heads and staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.
• Oversee all operational departments including front office, F&B, banquets, housekeeping, maintenance, and more.
• Create and manage the hotels' budget, allocating resources appropriately to various departments.
• Foster a guest-centric culture throughout the hotel, prioritizing personalized service and exceptional experiences.
• Ensure the maintenance and enhancement of the hotel's physical assets, including accommodations, amenities, and common areas.
• Stay updated on local and national regulations related to the hospitality industry and ensure the hotel's compliance.

Requirements

• A proven track record as a successful leader in a hotel or resort General Manager or Managing Director role.
• A minimum of 5 years of hospitality experience showing progressive growth.
• A college degree or a combination of education and experience equivalent to a college degree, preferably in Hospitality, or Travel & Tourism Management.
• Union labor relations experience required.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
• Problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
• The flexibility to adapt to varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
