About the position

The General Manager serves as the primary strategic business leader for a full-service property, overseeing all operational aspects including guest satisfaction, financial performance, and sales generation. This role involves leading the management team to implement strategies that align with Sonesta's mission and brand initiatives, ensuring high standards of service and operational excellence across the properties in the designated region.

Responsibilities

• Lead the management and operational strategies for the property to ensure guest and associate satisfaction.
• Oversee financial performance, sales, and revenue generation for all units within the region.
• Develop and implement property-wide strategies in partnership with the leadership team.
• Build relationships with key customers and engage personally in the sales process.
• Create long-term business positioning strategies and capital investment plans in collaboration with ownership.
• Ensure compliance with Sonesta's Guiding Principles and brand service strategies.
• Manage human resources functions including hiring, training, and performance appraisals.
• Ensure product quality standards are met across all hotels in the area.
• Directly supervise the hotel's sales activities and manage the sales and marketing plan.
• Develop annual budgets focusing on market trends and optimizing revenue.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in hotel administration, business administration, or a related field preferred.
• Three years of experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager, or Director of Sales in full-service hotels preferred.
• Fluent in English; other languages preferred.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with hotel management software such as OPERA and Synxis.
• Knowledge of revenue management strategies.
• Familiarity with guest recognition programs and marketing initiatives.
