About the position

At SanMar, the work you do makes a difference. The Compliance Analyst contributes to SanMar's success by assisting in the design, development, and implementation of the company's product safety program. This role ensures that all applicable regulations, industry standards, and company policies are adhered to. The Compliance Analyst serves as a key resource for researching, providing guidance, and responding to compliance-related questions from both internal and external stakeholders. In this position, you will support the design, development, and enforcement of SanMar's product safety program. You will review products for regulatory compliance during the product development lifecycle and make recommendations when necessary to address any concerns. Additionally, you will specify and communicate product safety test requirements to internal and external stakeholders, participate in the development, review, and maintenance of product safety policies, procedures, and manuals, and research and review new concepts upon request from brand management and product development teams. You will also review marketing materials for compliance with applicable requirements and company policies, work closely with Product Quality Assurance and Global Sourcing teams to communicate the company's product safety test requirements to third-party labs and the international supply base, and monitor product updates to evaluate changes for their impact on regulatory compliance. Maintaining awareness of industry and market trends by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications is also part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will support the development of new supplier onboarding processes and associated materials, assist with new market expansion, and conduct global regulation research. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, and you will be expected to comply with all policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development, and enforcement of SanMar's product safety program.
  • Review products for regulatory compliance during the product development lifecycle, making recommendations when necessary.

  • Participate in the development, review, and maintenance of product safety policies, procedures, and manuals.
  • Research and review new concepts upon request from brand management and product development teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in consumer product regulatory compliance and/or product safety, environmental health and safety, or related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of CPSC, FTC labeling, ANSI, REACH, Prop 65, and other state regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, report generation, and internet research.
  • Experience developing processes, procedures, and manuals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings.
  • Analytical with proven data management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ethical dedication to keeping organization practices and sensitive information confidential.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple time-sensitive tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and a commitment to follow through.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.
