About the position
The Compliance Auditor - Payroll position at Legacy Professionals LLP involves performing compliance audits for various fringe benefit funds to ensure proper employer contributions on behalf of employees. The role offers a hybrid work environment, allowing auditors to work from employer locations, Legacy offices, and remotely. Responsibilities
- Read collective bargaining agreements and understand the basis upon which contributions should be made
- Prepare audit files and set appointments
- Perform fieldwork based on compliance audit program
- Record payroll taxes
- Classify employees
- Record payroll
- Review bank records such as accounts payable/check register
- Prepare final audit report
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related field (Accounting, Finance, or business majors preferred) or an Associate's degree with at least 2 years of related professional work experience
- Strong analytical, research, and technical skills
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
- Teamwork and communication skills
- Detail-oriented and able to handle numerous assignments
- Familiarity with payroll systems/business checking accounts is a plus
- Must have reliable transportation for local travel to employer locations
Nice-to-haves

- Valid CPA license
- Certified Fraud Examiner certification
