About the position

The Vice President of Compliance in the Investment Banking division at Goldman Sachs will play a crucial role in overseeing compliance for the Equity Capital Markets and Equity Derivatives business. This position involves providing compliance oversight, developing policies, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements while collaborating with various teams across the firm.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and compliance oversight to IB on transactions, new business initiatives, and significant business changes affecting the firm.
• Assist in responding to regulatory inquiries and investigations.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practice standards for IB.
• Create and implement new controls and surveillances to mitigate risks to the firm by analyzing transactional processes and individual banker activities.
• Assist other compliance teams in monitoring IB activities to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and firm policies.
• Create and implement live and online compliance training programs to educate business professionals on compliance requirements and regulatory changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree; JD preferred
• 7+ years experience in compliance, law, and/or finance, preferably related to investment banking transactions
• Strong project management skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to produce quality work under tight time frames
• Effective summarization, communication, and defense of positions
• Critical thinking skills and willingness to challenge the status quo
• Strong analytical, organizational, research, and fact-gathering skills
