About the position

The Compliance Manager for Property and Casualty at NextEra Energy serves as a strategic business partner and subject matter expert, ensuring compliance with state regulations for foreign and alien surplus lines carriers. This role involves oversight of regulatory filings, management of state-related reporting, and maintaining high standards of compliance within the organization. The position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic business partner and subject matter expert for compliance with state regulations.
• Oversee all regulatory filings with state insurance departments and CIMA.
• Meet periodically with management to provide updates on filings and outstanding tasks.
• Manage state-related reporting, surplus lines tax filings, and data calls to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
• Provide accurate information in response to internal and external requests.
• Analyze data and prepare reports with a high level of accuracy.
• Communicate effectively and work in a team environment while also being able to work independently.
• Maintain complete and organized files, ensuring confidentiality of information.
• Participate in projects to achieve internal business unit goals and objectives.
• Promote a culture of high compliance standards.
• Analyze and interpret requirements to maintain compliance with U.S. and Cayman filing requirements.
• Demonstrate thorough, accurate, and timely submission of documentation.

Requirements

• High School Grad / GED
• Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
• 8+ years of experience in compliance or related field
• 2+ years of leadership experience
• Property/Casualty corporate regulatory and compliance experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
