About the position

The Compliance Officer II - Complaints at Coastal Community Bank is responsible for overseeing the compliance complaints program, ensuring effective management of complaints and regulatory risks. This role involves collaborating with various teams to enhance compliance culture, responding to complaints, conducting root cause analysis, and developing internal processes. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to complaints from regulatory agencies and customers accurately and timely.
  • Identify potential regulatory risks while responding to complaints and escalate as needed.
  • Monitor the complaint inbox and all open complaints daily to ensure timely responses.
  • Open complaint cases using a GRC tool and document all relevant information.
  • Prepare trend and root cause analysis to identify regulatory issues.
  • Develop reporting related to regulatory complaints, including monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Support analysts in complex matters and provide coaching.
  • Assist with compliance projects and requests from regulators and internal audit.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant rules and regulations, including Regulation E and UDAAP.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of financial services compliance experience in complaint management.
  • Proficient knowledge of financial services, deposit, privacy, and lending compliance laws and regulations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret governmental laws and regulations.
  • Strong investigative, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Solid knowledge of standard computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with GRC tools for complaint management.
