About the position

Join LivaNova as the Compliance Operations Director, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining our global compliance program. Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), you will collaborate with various stakeholders, including Compliance Officers from different business units, to assess and manage compliance risks across the organization. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that LivaNova adheres to evolving external requirements and internal standards, ultimately contributing to our mission of improving patient lives through innovative medical technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive global corporate Risk Assessments and maintaining an accurate Risk Register. You will stay informed about changes in the regulatory landscape and identify areas for improvement within our compliance framework. Your leadership will extend to managing compliance and enterprise risk strategies, as well as overseeing LivaNova's Third Party Risk Management Program. This includes working closely with identified risk owners to develop effective risk mitigation strategies and track their progress over time. You will also oversee LivaNova's Trade Compliance program, ensuring that it evolves in response to external requirements and business operations. Your strategic input will support the CCO in planning yearly Ethics & Integrity (E&I) activities and goals. Additionally, you will lead projects aimed at enhancing our compliance program across all regions and elements, ensuring alignment with the CCO and Compliance Officers to address any changes in the legal and regulatory landscape. As a key member of the compliance team, you will respond to inquiries from internal and external auditors regarding the compliance program and review relevant sections of the company's US Proxy Report and UK Annual Report. This position will require business travel, reflecting the global nature of our operations and the importance of maintaining compliance across all regions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain the company's global compliance program.
  • Conduct global corporate Risk Assessments and maintain a current Risk Register.
  • Manage compliance and enterprise risk and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead LivaNova's Third Party Risk Management Program and evolve it based on business operations.
  • Work with risk owners to develop risk mitigation strategies and track progress.
  • Oversee LivaNova's Trade Compliance program and ensure its execution.
  • Support the CCO in strategic, risk-based planning of yearly E&I activities and goals.
  • Lead projects related to the enhancement of LivaNova's compliance program across all regions.
  • Align with CCO and Compliance Officers to monitor changes in the legal and regulatory landscape.
  • Respond to internal and external auditors' inquiries regarding the compliance program.

Requirements

  • 10+ years' experience in compliance, risk, or internal auditing, preferably in the medical device or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing risk and developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Experience in project/program management, including implementation and ownership of company-wide solutions.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations affecting healthcare/manufacturing companies.
  • Analytical mindset to understand complex procedures and regulations.
  • Business acumen with a dedication to ethics and integrity.
  • Methodical and diligent with excellent planning and prioritization abilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office and computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English.
  • Collaborative, problem-solving attitude with good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different working styles across cultures.
