About the position

The Compliance Division of Precinct 4 is seeking a highly organized and efficient Paralegal to support our Chief Compliance Officer and Compliance Division. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and administrative skills, as well as a strong attention to detail. As a Paralegal, you will perform delegated and supervised substantive legal work, including, but not limited to, the job duties listed below, and ensures the smooth and timely preparation of agreements with Precinct 4 and 3rd party entities, which requires an understanding of legal principles and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Compliance Division, including external communications, document management, and scheduling support.
  • Draft legal forms and edit agreements to align business terms to organizational needs.
  • Maintain the Compliance Division's records and files, ensuring they are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Compliance-related policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and update Compliance-related databases and systems.
  • Assist in preparing Compliance-related reports and presentations.
  • Coordinate and track Compliance-related training for employees.
  • Provide support during ongoing litigation matters when needed, including document retention.
  • Coordinate and review responses to requests for public information.
  • Work collaboratively with other Divisions as needed to accomplish Precinct 4 goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Compliance Division.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or a similar field from an accredited college or university OR Paralegal certification WITH Five (5) years of experience as a paralegal.
  • Ability to perform thorough legal and factual analyses and exercise good judgment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience as a paralegal (preferred)
  • Experience working in a compliance or legal environment (preferred)
